SaferTraffic.com knows some people like to go fast! We appreciate the craftsmanship, time, money, and energy that goes into making an finely tuned machine. We enjoy high performance cars and the speeds they can obtain. We only ask that you keep your racing in a controlled environment such as a race track or designated area for racing like the one displayed in this video. Happy racing!

Illegal Street Racing

Street racing is a form of unsanctioned and illegal motor racing which takes place on public roads. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 804 people were killed in racing-related crashes between 2001 and 2006 and the highest incidence of illegal Street racing deaths is amongst the 15-29 age groups. Racing on a drag strip is much less dangerous than racing on the street. Spectators are kept at a safe distance, emergency safety crews are on site in case there is an accident. After declining in the first half of the decade, street-racing deaths are on the rise again, climbing roughly 35 percent from 111 in 2005 to 150 in 2006, according to the NHTSA.
